Born to Ice Paul Nicklen 9783961711239 Books Reviews

  • I have collected a few of Paul's books, which were all amazing. But this one surprised when I opened the box. I was traveling and forgot I ordered it and I guess I never bothered to look at the sizing on this, so getting it and realizing how heavy and big it was, was pretty cool. Can't believe it was only $90! Have spent upwards of $500 on books that don't even come close to this. The imagery as expected is just incredible, and the size of the book really adds to the shots as well, as you can really see the detail. Also supported Paul and his work with SeaLegacy is another +.
  • Really nice book. But there are too many black-and-white pictures. I preffer more color ones. I do not understand why is there majority of pictures black-and-white when the world is so colorfull?!...
  • Its a huge book so its a good deal if you think about value per pound. More seriously it is filled with large high impact prints of some amazing photos of the polar regions. It is a must have if you are into nature or nature photography. Fantastic book.. I am giving this as Christmas present this year.
  • Amazing book. The photos are just breathtaking and hard sometimes to absorb because you feel like you are there. The forward is from Leonardo DiCaprio and I while I love him as an actor it's hard to reconcile he wants to save the plant while flying in private planes. Should have been someone else.
  • I don't often buy books like this, but I have been following Paul Nicklen for a few years and am truly impressed by both his photography and his efforts to save the arctic regions. This is a book I will look at over and over again. The images are truly phenomenal. You are transcended into another world. This book is truly amazing.
  • There isn't much more to say than stunning. This is a work of art and a glimpse into the lives of other beings on our planet. It gives species that cannot speak for themselves a voice filled with urgency for us to find better ways to live our lives. We should listen and respond by really making individual changes that might not feel convenient initially, but that will have huge impact for all.
  • Love this book and what it stands for.
  • One of the most beautiful ‘coffee table’ book. The photographies are just mesmerizing.
