I love this genre of story telling and the art work is something I would love to try once I settle down and expand my interest.
In fairness...I love most old comic strips. The books being published by IDW, Hermes, Dark Horse, Fantagraphics, etc. are just terrific. This one is no different. Just adding the next volume. Comes with some histroy and then the strips. I love this stuff. The artwork, the storytelling...A+.
Another great volume in the Rip Kirby story. Must have for all collectors.

I thought there were more ghosted artists on this volume who weren't as good as Prentice, and it affected the overall art.
Perhaps as I mature into the twilight time. I become more jaded. Nonetheless, this volume of the "Rip Kirby" comic strip failed to engender significant empathy in my psyche. The stories are jaded. The art work is favorable--the close up are just fine and many of the backgrounds are complete and set the ambiance for the scene . I wonder if it's the story setting in the 1980s that has skewed my appreciation of such graphic literature. Nonetheless, on the whole, this is a book worthwhile for the aficionado of the graphic arts genera.
