About the Author
Irene J. Hartzell, Ph.D. has many years of experience in psychology and education. Twenty-five years as a successful clinical psychologist, she's also been on the adjunct teaching staff in pediatrics at UC Irvine Medical School and in psychology at Pepperdine University. She's credentialed in California as a K-8 teacher, counselor and school psychologist. Having personally overcome ADHD and developed strategies on her own to achieve academic and professional success, she's very familiar with the challenges K-12 students face.

- This new release by Dr. Hartzell showed an excellent and comprehensive knowledge of study skills at the middle-school level. The information flowed smoothly, and she broke down well the basic skills effective for learning new material and organizing time to complete assignments relative to the material. I felt her references to the new technology aids such as Google searches, Wikipedia references, and the like were excellent. I wish I'd had this guide when I was a teenager, and I recommend any parent or grandparent have their teenagers read and have this book on hand for reference.

Plus the colorful illustrations/photos and easy to follow wording make it almost a fun to read study guide - first study guide I would associate with any fun. I am eager to see this in a paper print format!

We also liked how organized each chapter was, as well as, the multiple choice questions, the memorizing chapter, and the chapter on how to improve your reading skills.
