Puppy Pickup Day Coloring & Activity Book is another book by April M. Cox where kids can spend many hours coloring, reading about the adventures of Little Labradoodle and completing a variety of well-designed activities. This book is beautifully illustrated. The story has many themes in which most young readers encounter at one time or another.
I think some of the activities are too advance for toddlers and preschoolers. Even though the author writes that this book was for ages, 2-4, 4-8, and 8-10. In my opinion by targeting this wide age range, some kids might be presented with a few challenges when trying to complete many of the multi-leveled exercises in this book.
I believe that if the author had created a series out of this coloring book for ages, maybe, 2-5, 6-8, and one for ages 9-10 and designed the activities so that they might have been more age-appropriate for each group, this would have worked better for me.
As the narrative of Little Labradoodle unfolds, various activities are inserted with no smooth transitions back to the story. In several scenes, Little Labradoodle, became “The Pup.†This name change could be a source of confusion for some young readers.
I did not see an answer key in the back of the book for the exercises. Puppy Pickup Day Coloring & Activity Book was given to me for my honest review. - Handing children a brand new coloring book is always a wonder but when it perfectly compliments a story being read to them the shock value increases. That is what happened in my house as I had handed my daughter a printed PDF version of this coring book that I received to review as I read her the story. She was amazed and it brought the story to life for her that the picture book didn't do because then I could see how she pictures the pups and other characters. This is a must get when getting the story book so they can color along as you read to them!

Highly recommend for ages 3-8 years old. - All little ones, especially those who love puppies, should enjoy this coloring book and also the picture book. What a wonderful idea for them to express their own thoughts as to what color each puppy looks like to them. Many activities are also included in the coloring book and give children the opportunity to follow along with the book as mom or dad reads the story to them.
