- I first read this book when I was about 16 or 17. I loved it then and I came away thinking that my worldview had been changed, that I looked differently at the small things that make life so great. Imagine my surprise reading it again over a decade later and realizing how much of it flew over my head then. Fulghum never disappoints and his wit and wisdom never grown old. I love this book more now than I did then, And as an adult I've come to realize what Fulghum posits within the first few pages, that most of what you need to know in life in order to be happy human being you learned before the age of six. I think too many of us focus on growing up and setting aside the lessons of youth that we forget that. It's a good thing Fulghum didn't.

- Wonderful Book. Consists of short 2-4 page essays on the authors experiences in everyday life. Each story closes with a comment on what the author took away from the incident. Uplifting, insightful. 7 million copies sold.
- Read anything by Robert Fulghum, a master storyteller who can make you belly laugh with insightful humor devoid of negativity, yet without being naïve or syrupy. Folksy yet philosophical, Fulghum offers unique insight into human foibles and redemption. As with most of his works I've read, each chapter is a self-contained vignette ... read it anywhere, any time, yet this format lends itself to very satisfying bedtime reading, the kind to invoke a happy mood and restful slumber. Timeless.
- This is a great book full of simple truths that we, as adults forget. Makes life seem so simple if we just follow the rules we are taught as children. This is one of those books you will read and reread. Funny and insightful. You can read in sections or in one sit down. Love this book.
- A must have - a cassette tape one will benefit from by listening to it every day for the next few months. Listen to it at times when your hands are busy but your mind is not - driving, and doing work around the house are perfect times. Then, listen to it again at least once every month for the rest of your life. Please, please play this for your young children to give them a firm foundation for life.
- All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten by Robert Fulghum is a great book filled with wisdom. I purchased it from to give to my son as a graduation gift. Just by reading the first 3 pages of the book my son will have all the knowledge needed to try and navigate life in the real world. This book should be required reading for all seniors getting ready to graduate.
- I have become a fan of books like How to Win Friends and Influence People and assumed that this book would be on par. I felt that the title was misleading (he speaks very little on "what he learned in kindergarten") and what he does speak on seemed like random musings with little potency. For example one section describes how he doesn't rake leaves. He attempts to make the point that "raking leaves takes time, and life is too precious to spend raking leaves" but the real message he presents is "I don't rake leaves because I am stubborn".
Although a quick and simple read, this book feels more like ramblings of a kind but misguided grandpa then a wise elder imparting wisdom of generations. An enjoyable but ultimately forgettable read.
