• Another lousy book in this series. Cover looks great, spooky woods and sleuthing at night. Wrong. Cover depicts a dream Nancy had. OK. We never go to Willow Woods, but told about it. These books are not well written, the main characters sometimes act about thirteen, and are clearly still in school. But Nancy has a boyfriend in college? Creepy. And she now has wild red hair? George doesn't like to participate in sports? Who are these people. And Ned Nickerson doesn't attend Emmerson, but River Heights U? Sloppy editing, boring mystery, weird situations.

• High level review of basic geological events and components of many different sections of Arizona. If you're looking for high level (1-2 pages per section of the state) info, this is fine - accurate and interesting. If you're looking for anything more than a brief summary, like specific types of mineral deposits, rock formations, or site of interest, this book doesn't deliver on any of that.
• Used it going from Tucson to Sedona, Flagstaff and then the Grand Canyon. My hobby has always been geology so I'm used to more academic geology text books but this had plenty of information as we drove/stopped/drove, etc. I wasn't disappointed in the least and it is perfect for someone who is interested in knowing how and why the terrain they are driving across began. I'm fascinated by structural geology so I did end up purchasing a textbook at the Grand Canyon and I will have both of these with me on my next trip. A note ... I bought this from the Tucson Goodwill and I always try to do that because I've yet to be disappointed by a Goodwill book. This book had no wear and was in perfect condition (as usual). It lovingly has highlights and my annotations now but I plan to keep it as a reference and I didn't want to miss my impressions. Good job Goodwill.
• Wherever I go, I always have a roadside geology book by my side. Living in Arizona, there is so much of interest from a geological point of view. All you have to do is drive, and when you see something of interest, either have your friend read to you from the book, or just pull over and do a little digging.
  The organization of material is really excellent and will help even the novice geologist.
  
  Section one covers the simple, basic introductory geology information. Next, it breaks down the three provinces that make up Arizona. What is great is the book covers various geology that you can see while traveling Arizona highways.
  
  This is really a fun book.

• This book has not been updated since the 1980s. Highway numbers have changed, freeways completed, and it devotes a lot of time to water issues that have changed considerably in the last 35 years. Book is almost obsolete.
• In ROADSIDE GEOLOGY OF ARIZONA, Halka Chronic relates the story of Arizona's geology, which varies considerably from North to South. In the Basin & Range area, where I live, collisions between vast tectonic plates built mountains that rivaled the Sierras before they were worn down by millions of years of wind,water, and unrelenting sun. In the Phoenix area, I have hiked through the roots of those ancient mountains, metamorphic rocks that have been crushed, pushed and pulled into new forms and wild shapes. All my life I've wondered about them what they are, how old they are, why they're here. Halka Chronic answers those questions.
  
  I used to just gaze out the window and wonder about roadside geology when I was on a trip. Now I consult the Roadside Geology series. I can't help it! I'm a Geology nerd. Make that HAPPY geology nerd. This book is highly recommended.
• I made the scenery along the road trips between Pheonix and Flagstaff and our return to Pheonix much more interesting and added another layer to the beautiful scenery.
  It is well written and an interesting compromise between a layman and a professional's requirements.

• My 8 year old LOVES these graphic novels. She tends to be a reluctant reader but recently she has discovered and fallen I love with the graphic novel genre. This was one of the first ones to catch her fancy. The Princess Candy stories are very cute and age appropriate. I wish they add to the series.
• Excellent condition and price!
• My daughter enjoyed the plot and characterization of the Marshmallow Mermaid (my words, not hers ). She found the book interesting.
  Another great graphic novel with great pictures throughout.
• My oldest daughter is almost seven years old, and she is an avid reader. She prefers graphic novels to chapter books. Our town library has a large selection of children’s graphic novels, and she always finds nice things to read. She found the first Princess Candy book at our town library, and then she asked me to request the sequels from the library network.
  
  The Marshmallow Mermaid is a book in the Princess Candy series, which are written by Michael Dahl and illustrated by Jeff Crowther. The Marshmallow Mermaid might be the second book, but it’s not very clear. It helps readers to read Sugar Hero so that they understand Princess Candy’s origin story, but that’s probably not mandatory.
  
  In this story, a mysterious creature is seen leaving the swimming pool in search of food- and the creature finds marshmallows. Later, Halo saves a boy named Cody when marshmallows appear all over the hallway. Cody is allergic to eggs and gelatin! Later, when Cody disappears, and Halo meets the Marshmallow Mermaid- the mysterious creature!- she knows that she is going to need to become Princess Candy again so that she can save her friend!
  
  This is a short book, and it is written at reading level “K”, or grade level 1.6. My daughter is an advanced reader, but it’s nice to find graphic novels that are written for younger children.
  
  The illustrations are bright and colorful. Halo has pink hair, and the “special effects” when Halo turns into Princess Candy are great! The Marshmallow Mermaid was also very well drawn- she’s got stringy hair, fangs, and claws. She scared me a little!
  
  I would absolutely recommend The Marshmallow Mermaid. My daughter loved reading the book, and she loves this series. It’s great to see girl superheroes, and it’s wonderful that this series is written for new readers, but appeals to more advanced readers as well.

• This book is horrendous. I would give it negative stars if possible. The premise behind this book is chilling if you have half of a brain to see the implicit messages being implanted in young children's minds. The main character is admittedly a loner who doesn't have friends, she finds a bottle of "candy" (drugs) and wonders what will happen if she takes them. To escape her problems she takes said "candy" and proceeds to have hallucinations about a demon mermaid that terrorizes the school. If you love this book then I suggest you start using your brain to see what is really being tought here...it is not innocent "fun".

  Truly the best of Balzac. Fans of the original bon vivant will recoil in entertainment to the slow financial trainwreck of the (previously) shrewd businessman and military hero Cesar Birotteau. This novel showcases Balzac's familiarity with law and bankruptcy law and shines a light into the dark corners of finance, banking, and speculation during the dawn of the nineteenth century in France. This is another great act in the human comedy.

• I think that a book like this has a little something for everyone. For die hard runners, there are new ways to think about form and technique. For new runners, there are mind-sets and philosophies to really think about what is important when it comes to running.
  
  I really enjoyed Kevin's thoughtful approach to not just running, but to life. Just looking at his chapter subjects shows us how introspective this book is beginner's mind, reasons for running, coaching as play, eating with heartfulness, well-being, breathing, posture, balance, healing, and timing. While some of the book is very technical, there are tips we can all use. Getting in touch with how and why we run, running for pleasure, putting away the music, stopping running because we have to and starting to run because we want to, looking at everything we do as play and the fundamental importance of that, breathing specifically and reflectively and so much more are all covered in the book.
  
  If you love to run or want to love to run, this is a great book for you. If you are raising children and you are not sure how to promote sport and a love of being physical, there is a lot to think of in this book. One of my favorite quotes in the book on page 45
  
  "From the Latin, competere, 'strive in common' in classical Latin means 'to come together, agree, to be qualified, strive together;' from com 'together' to petere 'to strive and seek.' Competition's root meaning and true meaning for growth is to strive together for the attainment of something. To go forth together to understand each other's potential. True competition is striving for excellence together. In this way, competition is an opportunity for enjoying a quest to achieve personal and perhaps team potential. The best effort of another has the potential to bring out the best effort in you. There are no winners and losers. Just an attempt to raise the level of play in a way that everyone benefits from a challenging learning experience." (This quote is in relation to how we are raising children and young athletes and the picture we are painting for them)
  
  Kevin's book may not change the how or why you run, but it is guaranteed to make you think and take a new look at the beauty of being a runner. Thanks Kevin!

  The last five years of my life have been immersed in training intensely for triathlon This summer I had a sub-performance season.. I knew I needed rest, but my spirit desired more, more answers to "why"? I read a great book on "training with a Navy Seal" and a book written by another, which, everybody should read about "resilience" Both books were enlightening but, what is right for me? • I bought this to do a presentation on Lunar New Year for my daughter's preK class. We are Korean-American, so we were looking for something that wasn't strictly talking about Chinese New Year. This book was perfect. The kids loved listening to it. The diverse friends talked about in the book were great for normalizing culture. And the kids were quiet and still during the reading, so it must have been good! I also liked that it had the Korean hangul writing along with the English. We will read this book for years to come.
• I love any books with Korean and English for my daughter, especially when a book has the Romanized Korean writing so I can attempt to say the Korean words. I think she gets an extra kick out of it, even tho I'm probably butchering the beautiful Korean language. Bright illustrations and a lovely family story that teaches cultural variety.
• I was invited by my child's first-grade teacher to read a book for Lunar New Year to the class and I bought several books to consider. I picked this book because it shows children of different racial and ethnic backgrounds celebrating Lunar New Year/Chinese New Year even while focusing on one child who is half-Korean in particular and all the things he does to celebrate Lunar New Year. The illustrations are great too. The kids loved it!

• Janet Wong's year 2000 This Next New Year is unique in that it shows different ethnic groups in America celebrating Chinese New Year. The little boy who is the main character is half Chinese and half Korean. The book also mentions a little boy who is French and German who celebrates the holiday with Thai food to go and a little girl who is Hopi and Mexican who calls the New Year her favorite holiday because she likes getting red envelopes from her neighbor from Singapore. With vibrant colors, the boy explains with a bit of wit and humor and spunk their traditions around the New Year including washing his hair and "drying it extra dry." A cute book for the younger set - maybe 4-7 year olds - and particularly good for pointing out that lots of different people enjoy recognizing Chinese New Year with their own little traditions.

• This is exactly what I was looking for in a coloring book - repeated patterns with large enough coloring spaces that they're easy to see and to color in. The pages are printed on one side only, which is really nice, and each of the patterns is different enough that every page feels fresh. There are both simple and complex patterns included, plus a color test page at the beginning of the book. I also ordered Volume Two of these, and if there is a Volume Three I'll probably order that too!
• I love coloring geometric patterns and the designs in this book are exactly what I was hoping for. Pages are a bit thin, so I recommend putting something in between when using markers to avoid bleed through. It would also be nice if the individual pages were easier to remove. At least they're one-sided, unlike most coloring books. Definitely recommended for coloring fans who enjoy these sorts of patterns.
• I was quite disappointed in this book because once you finished coloring the page it became flimsy and. Would curl, and I’m using colored pencils . I never had a coloring book do that before! It was quite disappointing! If, I knew that it would do that I would never. Had bought it! On the positive side, I do like the designs and geometric designs in the book.
• I bought this for my dad for when he was recovering from surgery. It did a good job of distracting him in general, but when he was taking some of the stronger pain pills some of the patterns made him dizzy. Fortunately he saw the humor in the situation and it just added to the fun!
• I am so disappointed with the paper in this book. It is thinner than cartridge paper. Forget using marker unless designs are scanned on to thicker paper. With paper this thin, I really don’t see the point In putting designs on one side of the page.
• it's interesting to see what kinds of patterns will develop from different color combinations - and to see what patterns emerge from using different color combos - you can spend hours getting lost in the shapes and colors.
• Great coloring book. Nice designs. Some are easier and some are more intricate. Probably my favorite coloring book I've purchased. The paper is thick and all pages are printed on one side.
• Great designs but wish the pages were thinking as markers bleed through. The lines in the patters also need to be thicker.

• Darby Conely's characters and their interactions are a work of comedy genius. It is impossible for me to read "Get Fuzzy" without howling with laughter. Bucky Cat is a lunatic. Although we have a general idea that he is a semi-violent egomaniac with a twisted perspective, his actions and passions are absolutely unpredictable. One can't help but love and feel for Satchel the Dog. He's sweet and loveable and not very bright. Rob the human is caught in the middle of the interplay between these two.
  
  I gave a copy of this and another of Darby Conley's "Get Fuzzy" collections to my mother when she was recovering from an operation to remove a cancerous tumor from her lung. She loved it; and it raised her spirit so much that it eased her recovery. Laughter is indeed the best medicine!

• Awesome, great way to keep kids entertained without having to listen to their music or movies! Always a classic!
• It's good to see and read Mr. Conley remains just as amusing as he was in the first two books. I stumbled onto "Get Fuzzy" in calendar form, and am ecstatic I can catch up with these books.
  I read this last night, it is the rare Laugh Out Loud read.
  There were a few tears, as I believe this collection contains strips from September 11, 2001 and thereafter. However (either because Mr. Conley did so when originally writing the strip so as not to be morose, or the editors did so when compiling the book), there is levity in between.
  The books keeps you laughing.
  It�s a great book.
  Pick it up.
  If you haven�t bee introduced to Bucky, Satchel and Rob, yet, go pick up �Groovitude,� as well.
  Tuna out.
• Always smart humor. Makes me laugh anytime. Never disappoints. Buck B Katt is a inspiration haha. Great for anyone who has a sarcastic wit.
• If you enjoy reading the get Fuzzy comics in your local newspaper, you will love this compilation. It is a colored collection of the comics and story lines, laid out in large text and bold font. It is easy to read and even easier to enjoy.
• I bought several of these books for a friend who is stuck in the VA hospital. I recommend to cartoon, cat and dog lovers.
• I love the Get Fuzy series. I like it best when Conley sticks to domestic issues. All the books are fun and creative.

La brecha entre la teoría anglosajona y la teoría marxista lejos de estar superada está en tensión entre los interrogantes que la Sociología del Trabajo no puede contestar, particularmente en el área de formación y empleo, los procesos de profesionalización problemáticos y la incidencia de la flexibilización de los mercados de trabajo que genera procesos crecientes de desprofesionalización y una vuelta a las preguntas teóricas que fundaron el campo de la Sociología de las Profesiones. La declinación o las transformaciones de algunas profesiones que son hoy enclaves para el desarrollo, como la ingeniería o de profesiones que se han expandido fuertemente desde sectores más informales en todos los niveles, como la informática, o los casi inexistentes, pero acuciantes estudios sobre el personal de seguridad, generan un área de indagación que interpela los límites entre la Sociología del Trabajo y la de las Profesiones. Así aparece la necesidad de repensar sus aportes teóricos, en dirección de resolver la tensión en la frontera de ambas disciplinas, cuando se trata de analizar categorías socio-profesionales, procesos de inserción en el mercado de trabajo, de profesiones que han adquirido cierta notoriedad y masividad, como las vinculadas a la comunicación, a la informática, al cuerpo, al arte y a los servicios o que muestran desajustes en la formación y el trabajo y se alejan de los procesos clásicos de profesionalización. Por otra parte, muchos saberes profesionales se constituyen en el seno del aparato estatal en áreas específicas (como es el caso de abogados, médicos, ingenieros, sociólogos, etc.) y también en casos que el saber profesional se ejerce exclusivamente, o casi, en el mismo Estado (científicos, diplomáticos, policías, militares, magistrados), generando procesos de profesionalización problemáticos, burocráticos o dominados por estructuras externas a la profesión misma.

• Well designed, easy to read and use. This gem of a book is an excellent resource for those user looking for shortcuts, easy to learn features of this awesome operating system. I bought this book a couple of months before the release of Snow Leopard. In hindsight, since many MAC OS X users will inevitably upgrade to Snow Leopard, I suggest holding off on this book and wait for the release of MAX OS X Snow Leopard instead. You can't go wrong with the publishers of this series of instructional books. They conceptualize the needs of the reader and address many questions that are often left to the Genius Bar at Apple.
